What if spiders crawl in my ears when I’m asleep…….???
I walked on the Lilac Road without a companion. My sole company were the tall thin trees that reached high over the heads and their long branches swooping down to tease my scalp and grip at my hair. The sun I can see was far beyond the trees, my comfort and love hiding, and far away from the heartless trees about to engulf me. The lilac road stretched on endlessly in repeated curves and landmarks. I considered I may be walking in circles but each time there was something different about what I saw beyond the apple gates each time I passed them. It was only after the hundredth gate that I realized what I was seeing was my own soul, slowly being ripped apart. My own identity, ripping away from the endless loopy madness of this world to reconnect with nature. The sun was then not my friend but the cruel siren calling me to my death. And I was to walk forever in mad blindness on the Lilac Road, slowly dissolving till no more of myself was left.
